The Moodbidri-based Alva's Education Foundation will conduct ‘Alva's Pragati, the Banking Placement Drive' at Moodbidri in Dakshina Kannada district on May 27.
Addressing presspersons here on Monday, Mr Vivek Alva, Trustee of Alva's Education Foundation, said that more than 15 banks and financial institutions will participate in this drive.
The placement drive is open to students studying in various colleges in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, and there is no registration fee for the placement drive.
Mr Alva said that nearly 500 jobs will be on offer by 15 companies at the placement drive. Nearly 3,000-4,000 participants are expected to participate in this. This placement drive is open to students from MBA, M.Com, B.Com and BBM streams.
He said that the recently-concluded Alva's Pragati 2011 targeted more than 140 companies. Nearly 15,000 students from nine districts of Karnataka participated in this event.
Of them, nearly 3,500 students were placed in various sectors such as manufacturing, retail, health, hospitality, banking and financial sector, among others. No registration fee was collected either from the students or from the companies in Alva's Pragati 2011.
