The Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) has named former chief minister B. S. Yeddyurappa, his two sons, his son-in-law, and JSW Steel represented by its CMD, Sajjan Jindal, in the chargesheet filed in the CBI special court, with regard to land de-notification case.
The chargesheet alleges that Yeddyurappa misused his office, received Rs 20 crore kickback from South West Mining Company as a quid pro quo to waive-off dues to the State Government, and recommend mining lease to the Central Government.
The chargesheet claims that Yeddyurappa’s sons — B.Y.Vijayendra, B. Y. Raghavendra and R. N. Sohan Kumar — purchased land for Rs 40 lakh which was notified for acquisition by the Karnataka Government, by violating laws and getting the land de-notified from acquisition.
Further, the same land was sold at an exorbitant price of Rs 20-crore to collect as donation to the trust run by the kin of Yeddyurappa.
The trust in turn transferred Rs 6 crore to another trust run by then CM, the CBI charge-sheet said.
