ABVP national executive in Mangalore from May 26

The National Executive Council of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), which is scheduled to meet in Mangalore from May 26-29, will focus more on North-Eastern region.

Addressing press persons here on Sunday, Shrihari Borikar, National General Secretary of ABVP, said that not much information is available on north-eastern states in the existing curricula in the country. The council will urge the respective bodies to give more thrust to this.

On the higher education facilities, he said many students from these states have to travel to other states for higher education. The council will also urge the Government to strengthen the higher education infrastructure in these states, he said.

The council will also discuss the future strategy for the security of students from north-eastern states in other states, he said.

Murali Manohar, National President of ABVP, said that 364 delegates from various parts of the country will participate in the national executive council meeting. The council meets during May and December every year.

In this meeting, resolutions on targeting respectable place in the 2020 Olympics will be passed after deliberations.

He said that the meeting is aimed at reviewing the performance of the organisation and at planning future course of action during the year.
