58 pre-placement offers made so far at IIM-C

Pre-placement offers have begun to pour in of IIM Calcutta this summer. In the first week of August, 58 students at IIM-C have received on-campus pre-placement offers. Some 20 students also got pre-placement interview offers, the Institute said in a statement.

There were 454 students in the batch of 2013-15 academic periods.

Majority of the offers came from management consulting firms like last year. The Top 4 consulting firms: Mckinsey, BCG, Bain and A T Kearney in total gave 24 offers. McKinsey & Co and The Boston Consulting Group made 8 and 7 offers, respectively. AT Kearney gave offers to all the IIM Calcutta students who interned with them.

The general management domain also saw pre-placement offers from Tata Administrative Services (TAS) and the Aditya Birla Group.

Philips gave 3 offers and invited 2 for interviews, the highest across all B-schools, the IIM-C said.

Pepsi made 3 offers in sales & marketing and finance streams. Alshaya, a retail franchise operator in the Middle East made 8 offers. Other companies that made offers include Bosch, Nestle, Shell, Vodafone and iNautix.

Deutsche Bank being the first bank to roll-out pre-placement offer in finance. More pre-placement offers are expected from investment banks in the following months.

Pre-placement interview offers also came from Mondelez, KPMG, L’oreal, Medtronics and HCL.

Last year students at IIM Calcutta received 112 pre-placement offers.
