IIM-A Final Placements: Flipkart, Amazon dominate Cluster-2

At the Cluster 2 of the Final Placements of the PGP Batch of 2019 at the Indian Institute of Management - Ahmedabad (IIM-A), Flipkart emerged as the top recruiter with 14 offers (including pre-placement offers),  followed by Amazon with 11, heading a list of several offline and online retail players and agri-focussed companies.

Held on Monday,  the Cluster 2 saw regular recruiters such as AB InBev, Asian Paints, HUL, General Mills, ITC, Mondeléz, Nestlé, P&G, Reckitt Benckiser and Samsung, besides Amazon and Flipkart.

A variety of roles were offered during Cluster 2. General Management firms offered leadership roles in conglomerates across geographies, closely followed by Consumer Goods firms. IIM-A’s rural-targeted course, Post-Graduate Programme in Food and Agribusiness Management (PGP-FABM) saw  30 companies participating for the final placements.

The batch explored opportunities in a diverse set of industries within the food, agribusiness and allied sector ranging from FMCG, Agri Inputs and Services, Food Processing and Supply Chain, Food and Agribusiness PE-VC, Food and Agri Consulting, Agri Commodity Trading, e-Commerce, and Retail.

Players such as Ernst & Young (EY), RBL Bank and Reliance Foundation were among the first-time recruiters for FABM, while RaboBank and INI Farms re-engaged for placements.

The students also embraced opportunities with start-ups in the agribusiness domain, an IIM-A statement said.

Other top recruiters included Godrej Agrovet, PI Industries, Jain Irrigation, Pioneering Ventures, Ninjacart and Waycool extended three offers each.

The third cluster of the PGP final placements will be conducted on February 14
