Panjab University collaborates with C-DAC to boost research

In a bid to promote research and development in engineering and its allied fields, the University Institute of Engineering and Technology of Panjab University and the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C—DAC), Mohali, today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

PU Vice—Chancellor Arun Kumar Grover and C—DAC Executive Director J. S. Bhatia signed the agreement for promotion of research and development (R&D) and creation of human capital in the field of engineering and other related emerging areas.

The MoU will contribute in improving ongoing research, human resources and will provide a wider exposure to faculty and students of both institutions, a PU spokesman said here.

At present, the engineering and technology institute of Panjab University is carrying out research in the areas of bio-medical signal and image processing, cloud computing, vibrations and noise, digital signal processing, neural networks, optimisation techniques and other related bio-science/engineering topics.

C—DAC, Mohali is a Scientific Society of the Union Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
