The Union Human Resources Development Minister, Kapil Sibal, on Sunday expressed confidence that the innovative capabilities of Indian business, especially the top 500 companies, and the energies of the youth, would together craft India’s recovery back to high economic growth.

“I am sure that our renewed development path will unfold over the next few months as the global situation becomes more clear and stable,” he said. He was speaking at the first convocation ceremony of the Birla Institute of Technology and Science here today.

He underlined the need for frugal innovation, which will give access to more people to a wide range of products and services. “Already, a growing number of universities abroad, including those in the US, UK and elsewhere, are taking the frugal innovation message seriously and initiating programmes. I believe, that we now need to provide a pedagogic platform for frugal innovation,” he said.
