Growers to get ₹1.50/kg as incentive for arecanut sold to Campco

After registering a gross profit of ₹56 crore during 2013-14, the Mangalore-based Central Arecanut and Cocoa Marketing and Processing Cooperative (Campco) Ltd has announced incentive to its grower members.

Suresh Bhandary, Managing Director of Campco Ltd, told Business Line here that the cooperative recorded an all-time high gross profit of ₹56 crore for 2013-14 following the market conditions in the arecanut sector during the period.

Following this, the board of the cooperative has taken a decision to award an extra incentive of ₹1.50 a kg of arecanut sold to Campco. Farmers will get the incentive at the rate of ₹1.50 a kg based on the quantity sold to the cooperative, subject to a maximum limit of ₹10,000, he said.

Farmers will get this incentive amount from their nearest Campco branches from the second week of July, he said.

Added to this, the staff members of the cooperative will also get bonus for 2013-14, he said.
