Heavy overnight rains has led to severe water logging across different parts of Kolkata.
Vast areas of north and south Kolkata — that include places such as Amherst Street, Thanthania, Girish Park, Manicktala, Golf Green, Jadavpur, Tollygunge, amongst others, have gone under water.
The water level in some areas is more than knee deep.
Major arterial roads including Central Avenue and Bidhan Sarani, among others, have been water logged with traffic movement either slowing down or being stopped in some areas.
The city, the Met department said, has experienced nearly 133 mm of rains. Rainfall is expected to continue till Sunday.
