The Global Mobility (MOVE) Summit to be held on September 7-8, and attended by the Chairmen of global automobile companies, will see a string of policy announcements, NITI Aayog, the main organiser of the event, said here on Thursday.
Some of the top leaders who will attend the meet include Osamu Suzuki, Chairman Suzuki Motor Company; Takeshi Uchiyamada (Toyota Motor Corporation); Chen Zhixin (SAIC Motor), Volkmar Denner (Robert Bosch), Ulrich Spiesshofer (ABB Group), Masayoshi Son (Softbank), Pawan Munjal (Hero MotoCorp), Anand Mahindra (Mahindra & Mahindra) and Bhavish Aggarwal (Ola).
“There will be conferences starting on Friday on the run-up to the event where the Ministries and State governments will participate so that we are able to cut across the silos in policies that we have in the country,” Rajiv Kumar, Vice-Chairman, NITI Aayog told reporters here.
He said this would be one of the biggest events for public-private partnerships and stakeholders from India and across the globe will meet to co-create a public interest framework, showcase innovations and build a platform to shape the future of mobility.
“We want to start a new paradigm of solutions with these events to be able to push the policies. States are also working a lot on mobility solutions. There have been a lot of inputs on regional aspects,” Kumar said, adding that these papers will be released at the summit meet.
“Earlier, there was no focus on mobility in the States. There were no action plans earlier. But now they have given their inputs and there were regional workshops, after which we have made our papers on fuels, strategies, shared and connected mobility,” Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog said.
Main themes
Some of the core themes of the event will be: Maximising Asset Utilisation;
Comprehensive Electrification and Alternative fuels; Reinventing Public Transport; Goods and Logistics; — and Data Analytics and Mobility.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the event on September 7.
