Naidu seeks Centre's support for additional power generation in AP

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, now on a two-day visit to Delhi, is holding a series of interactions with Union Ministers to seek their support in developing the new state.

During the day, he called on Union Power Minister, Piyush Goyal, and sought his support in ensuring additional power generation in Andhra Pradesh, including offer of sops for new and renewable energy and fuel linkages to some of the stranded power plants and new ones in the pipeline.

He highlighted how the State was keen to provided 24x7 power supply.

He also met with Union Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu, and is expected to call on several other Union Ministers, including Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.

He is scheduled to meet Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and hold discussions seeking Centre’s support for special status to the state, the loan waiver scheme and also for early completion of the multi-purpose, inter-state Polavaram project.
