A Pakistan-based industry body has said India’s trade relations with the neighbour had witnessed significant improvement over the last couple of years. Nasir ud din Sheikh, Chairman of the standing committee on fairs and exhibitions, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, said participation of exhibitors from Pakistan in Indian trade fairs almost doubled this year, compared with last year. While the number of Pakistani participants at the Mega Trade Fair in Kolkata doubled this year to 40 (20), another trade fair in Delhi last month received 176 (105) participants from the country, Sheikh pointed out. “We have seen the biggest ever participation in Indian trade fairs from our country this year. We hope this to increase further. We hope our trade with India will also see a growth,” he said at the meeting.
