The fasting of YSR Congress Party chief and Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy in protest against the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh was broken by doctors at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) here on Saturday.

The health of Jaganmohan Reddy has deteriorated as he has been fasting for the last seven days. After consulting police, a team of doctors forcibly administered fluids to Reddy.

Earlier, Reddy, who is in judicial custody in the illegal assets case, was shifted to NIMS from Osmania General Hospital amid tight security.

Briefing newspersons on the health condition of Reddy, a NIMS doctor said that Jagan might need to stay under medical care for three more days.
