The winter session of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly is proposed to be held in the new capital city of Amaravati sometime in December.

Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao has decided on the venue for the meet.

The State Government is planning to construct a building in the Thullur village of Guntur district close to the Seed Capital Area on a fast track mode. Foundation laying ceremony for the capital is to be held on October 22 in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Meanwhile, the Government plans to bring back some of the artefacts from Amaravati now placed in the British Museum in London.

These were some of the artefacts which were part of the Buddhist stupa at Amaravati, where a museum has been developed and a mould of Maha Stupa currently exists. A number of artefacts from the stupa are on display at the museum in Amaravati and also outside the stupa.
