The Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to take to the Swiss Challenge way for selecting the master developer for capital city.

Under the Swiss Challenge a developer presents a bid. Then other prospective developers are asked to present their bids. If the latter is lower, the first bidder is asked to come with its bid again. If he comes up with lower bid, he gets the right or if he fails, the one with lower bid gets the mandate.

The State Cabinet which met here under Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has approved Swiss Challenge method for the selection of master developer for the state capital area.

The procedure for the Swiss Challenge will be as prescribed in the AP Infrastructure Development Enabling Act, 2001. The implementing agency for this will be the Capital City Development and Management Company notified in a Government Order No.109.

The government will be receiving proposal from the competent and experienced developers in Municipal Administration and Urban Development. The infrastructure authority chaired by the Chief Secretary will carry out the due diligence before the proposal is appraised and put it up for challenge.
