The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, today said by 2022, the state will transformed into one of the top three performing states in India.
Addressing Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) at the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Gujarat, Naidu welcomed them to adopt one village as part of AP Government’s flagship “smart village” programme.
Stating that NRIs serve as bridges by providing access to markets, sources of investment, expertise, knowledge and technology, he said AP has a very high number of NRIs and they can be part of the state’s development process.
The Chief Minister said: “The State will attract huge investments in the next decade and has a massive potential for public-private partnership (PPP) investments.''
"We also have plans to develop the world’s largest ring road of 180 km for the new capital,” according to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office.
He told the gathering that Andhra Pradesh offers a large bouquet of opportunities for investments in the infrastructure sector and a single-desk system will prove advantageous for industries.
“To give an impetus to various sectors, we are also bringing out policies on ports, textile and agri-processing and other sectors,” he added.
Chandrababu Naidu said AP is ideally positioned for river-linking due of abundant water availability in Godavari, Krishna, Penna and Vamsadhara rivers. “We will drought-proof the State in five years,” he said.
“With a land bank of 400,000 hectares, world-class capital city where Singapore and Japan are working with us, we are planning to give 20 mbps to all household. By providing 24X7 power supply, we will build best ports, airports and cities,” he said.
