The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has urged voters, particularly youngsters, to vote in large numbers. The capital city is under tight security cover on the day of polling.

Polling is underway in Delhi, with leaders and prominent personalities coming out early to cast their franchise.

About 673 candidates are in the fray from 70 constituencies of the State. Approximately 1.33 crore voters are eligible to exercise their franchise.

The main contest is between BJP and the AAP. Congress is fighting hard to improve its tally of eight seats from the last election.
