The Delhi Government is looking to overhaul the entire system of education in schools run by it in the Capital, Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia has said.

He was speaking at an Assocham event held in New Delhi on Tuesday.

“We are changing the entire concept of the education system in Delhi. We are working towards promoting the role of the teacher as pilot of the education system and the rest, including the Education Minister and other senior officials in the Education Department, being the support staff,” he said.

Currently, education is imparted in a very unscientific manner, and the Government is working towards changing that. He added that private schools are only concerned about minting money while Government schools in Delhi are in a pathetic condition due to poor infrastructure.

“We are working towards providing single-window clearance for ease of doing business in the city,” Sisodia said.
