Load-shedding may be lifted in Kerala

Power Minister Aryadan Mohammed has said that load-shedding during the night could be withdrawn as early as in two days. Daytime load-shedding already stood withdrawn, he told newspersons here.

Good monsoon rain witnessed so far during the season has raised hopes of yielding major gains in terms of boosted reservoir capacities in the State.

An all-party meeting would be convened on June 25 to discuss issues connected with evacuating power from the Kudankulam project through the Edamon-Kochi corridor. It would also discuss the modalities of rolling out the Kochi- Kayalamkulam gas pipeline project.

Mohammed would accompany the Chief Minister Oommen Chandy for a proposed meeting with the Karnataka Chief Minister in Bangalore to settle farmer protests over power-linking Mysore and Areecode.
