Supporters of Nandan Nilekani, Congress party candidate from Bangalore South parliamentary constituency, have been bringing some fun and cheer in the city.

Under the banner of ‘Together with Nandan’ (TWN), supporters and volunteers have been thronging the traffic signals at South End Circle, Jayanagar and Koramangala Sony signal with catchy banners and placards.

In Banashankari, another group of TWN volunteers walked down the street strumming guitars, beating drums and clapping to the beat.

Supporters and volunteers held colourful signs urging citizens to vote for Nandan Nilekani and to ‘join the revolution for change’.

“He is clean, capable, and credible, we need people like him to enter politics,” said Rosemary Mukherjee, a TWN volunteer, as she held a signboard with a similar message.

“A traffic signal is a place people will take the time to read, and we hope we are doing a good job communicating the urgent need for a candidate like Nilekani,” added Rohit Parigi another TWN volunteer.

Easing the traffic congestion with smiles and pro-Nilekani messages is only one of the ways TWN has been bringing energy and uniqueness into the campaign.

Volunteers knocked on doors, greeted residents and asked them to vote for change. They had discussions about Nandan’s track record the voting process and how Nilekani would bring back transparency to the government.

Friday morning brought a big group of TWN volunteers and supporters to run for Nilekani. The 5,000 run started in Puttenahalli in J.P Nagar. The runners said they were there to show solidarity for Nilekani and to urge Bangaloreans to vote on April 17th.

Rohini Nilekani even came and flagged the runners off and thanked them for their incredible support for Nilekani and the city of Bangalore.

The TWN campaign has just a few days to spread their message of hope and change, and the volunteers are very upbeat. A TWN runner, Venkatachalam P.K this morning put it, “There is so much positive energy around. We want Nandan to champion Bengaluru and truly make it a world-class city that works for everyone. It’s time we bloom into the city we dream of. With Nandan, we can.”
