The South Central Railway (SCR) has launched a new container train between Hyderabad and Chennai Port at Container Terminal Siding, Thimmapur.
The weekly train will facilitate the movement of export and import container traffic between Hyderabad and Chennai Port.
“The train service will cater to the needs of the industry and markets of Hyderabad and adjoining districts such as Mahbubnagar, Rangareddy, Medak, Warangal, Nalgonda and also Guntur,” SCR said a release issued here on Thursday.
Export of commodities such as bulk drugs/pharma, engineering and electronic goods, automobile, textiles, and processed foods is expected to easier with the launch of the service. The SCR is also expecting the cargo movement of granite, food Items, raw materials and chemicals on the circuit.
