‘No compromise on creation of Telangana state’

Nothing short of a Telangana state with Hyderabad as its capital will be acceptable, as it is the ‘only’ way for development of the region, said speakers at ``Sakala Janula Bheri’ which was attended by huge crowds here on Sunday.

The meeting, which was seen as response to ‘Save AP’ rally organised by APNGOs in support of a united Andhra Pradesh early this month, was attended by leaders cutting across political parties and organisations.

K. Chandrasekhar Rao, President of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) demanded that the process of Telangana state creation should commence immediately, adding that the movement would be continued till the State was created.

Prof Kodandaram, Chairman, Joint Action Committee for Telangana, said the region was deprived of water and jobs and creation of Telangana with Hyderabad as capital would be the only solution to tackle problems of Telangana people.

N. Janardhan Reddy, BJP leader, said his party would go ahead a create the Telanagana State even if the Congress backtracked on issue as the BJP had reiterated its commitment to the cause of Telangana many a occasion.

Meanwhile, in Kurnool, supporters of united Andhra Pradesh participated in large numbers public meeting ‘Samaikyandhra Garjana’.

Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Babu, president of APNGOs’ association, said any move to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh state would be opposed sternly as it was detrimental to the interests of one and all.
