NTPC, AP to expedite power projects

NTPC Chairman Arup Roy Choudhury today met the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N.Chandrababu Naidu in New Delhi and discussed issues relating to various power projects including proposed project at  Pudimadaka near Vizag.

NTPC has proposed to establish 4,000 MW coal based thermal power station near Vizag and a large Solar Power Plant of 1,000 MW.

The AP Government has agreed to allot required land of over 5,000 acres at a concessional rate. NTPC informed it has completed technical bid process for phase I of 250 MW of solar plants.

The State Government has allocated land to a Joint Venture company which in turn would hand it over to NTPC for allotting it to prospective bidders in Anantapur district.

During the meeting, expansion of the 2,000 MW NTPC Simhadri power plant additionally by 2x500MW or 800MW was discussed.

The Chief Minister reviewed these projects in detail with the chairman NTPC today and expressed the need to expedite the execution of the projects.
