In the backdrop of escalating tension with Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said how India gives “befitting response” to attacks is now part of the popular culture.

The PM also stressed on the need to ensure that nothing is done to dent the morale of the security forces.

The Prime Minister was addressing BJP workers in 15,000 locations across the country, which was termed by the ruling party as the “world’s largest video conference”.

Pehle filme banti thi ki bharat me kaise attack hue. Ab filme banti hain ki bharat ne kaise un attacks ka muh tod jawab diya (Earlier, they made films on how India was attacked. Now, they make films on how India gives a befitting response to these attacks),” said Modi.

“National sentiment is on a different scale now. Indian soldiers are showing their valour not just at the border but also across the border. The whole country is standing together behind the soldiers.

“The world is watching our collective will. We have full faith in the capability of our Armed Forces. That is why it is essential that anything that poses a danger to the morale of the forces should not be done. Our enemies should not be allowed a chance to point finger at us,” said the PM.

On development

Modi also said India will fight, live, work and win as one and nobody can create hurdles in its march towards development.

“The enemy is trying to destabilise us, carry out terror strikes... they want to stop our growth,” he said.

Modi said in his address that the 2014 election was a mandate for fulfilling people’s necessities, and the 2019 polls will be about fulfilling people’s aspirations. Indians have to be hard-working in all spheres and should be grateful to all those who are protecting the country, the PM said.

Some people, for their selfish interests, dislike a strong government, he said. BJP workers need to tell people the benefits of a strong government, he added.

On mahagathbandhan

Dismissing the ‘ mahagatbandhan ’ of opposition parties as ‘ mahamilavat ’, the Prime Minister said the Grand Alliance will send the country to the intensive care unit (ICU).

Modi said, a loss for the party, like in 2004, will jeopardise development works and the ease of corruption will replace the ease of doing business.
