Patanjali to set up food park in Vizianagaram

Baba Ramdev met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at the Secretariat in Amaravati on Thursday and discussed the details of the proposed mega food park to be set up by the Patanjali group in Chinnaraopalli village of Kothavalasa mandal in Vizianagaram district.

Patanjali Food and Herbal Park Pvt Ltd is setting up the food park on 172.84 acres at a cost of ₹634 crore, providing employment opportunity to 33,400 people. Patanjali Ayurved Ltd will be the sole promoter of the project.

Barley, rice, sesame, maize, jowar, pomegranate, mango, chilli, onion, ginger, peas, potato, turmeric, pulses, black and red gram, and papaya will be processed in the unit.

Core processing facilities, including an IQF freezer for fruits and vegetables, an aseptic filling and pulping line, pre-cooling and ripening chambers, cold storage with blast freezer, drying grinding, grading packing facility for spices and grains, and dry warehouses will be available. The anchor unit will be a juice extraction unit with a capacity of 1,500 tonnes a day entailing an investment of ₹45.20 crore.
