Rural water supply project in North 24 Parganas district

Bindeshwar Pathak, Founder of Sulabh International Social Service Organisation (SISSO), has inaugurated a low-cost rural water supply project at Haridaspur in North 24 Parganas District. The purified water supply project is based on a dug-well. (The villagers will get the water fully treated and safe as per WHO standard at their doorstep in 20 litres jars at a cost of 50 paise per litre. SISSO has trained the local operators, who are running the plant. SISSO has provided an indigenous and user-friendly technology for purification and packang of water.
