He was interrogated by police officials for the second consecutive day on Sunday.

Kunal Ghosh, Trinamool Congress MP, on Sunday called for party-level investigation to the Saradha scam. Ghosh also said that it might be embarrassing for the party if “certain issues” are revealed before the ongoing inquiry by the police. He was the CEO of Saradha’s media business.

He was interrogated by the officials of the Biddhanagar Police Commissionerate on Sunday for the second consecutive day. The Biddhanagar Commissionerate is probing the Rs 20,000 crore Ponzi scheme scam.

“When there are allegations against me, I, being a party MP, have demanded setting up of a commission by the party itself to probe the matter, along with an administrative probe,” he told reporters here.

Press conference

Ghosh said he would also like to reveal “many things” holding a press conference. “If the police think they have to arrest me, they will do so. There is nothing I can do in this regard. But if they do so, I will urge them to allow me to conduct a press conference, since, being courteous, I am unable to say lot of things,” he added.

Demanding an inquiry by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the scam, Ghosh had earlier claimed that he was “only an employee in the media division” of Saradha Group and was not involved with the scam.

Show-cause notice

Ghosh has been issued a show-cause notice by the disciplinary committee of TMC for his remarks in a public meeting on Friday.
