Sarangi appointed as advisor to TN govt

Tamil Nadu outgoing Chief Secretary Debendranath Sarangi has been appointed as advisor to the State Government. This is effective from January 1, 2013.

Sarangi will be in the cadre of Chief Secretary, and will hold the post for one year, says a State Government order.

An officer of the 1977 batch Indian Administrative Service, Sarangi retired today after serving as Chief Secretary since May 2011.

The new Chief Secretary Sheela Balakrishnan today met the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa before taking over the post, says a State Government press release.
