State Governments need to step in to resolve issues relating to land acquisition, S Gopalakrishnan, President CII and co-founder Infosys, said here on Monday.

According to Gopalakrishnan, in order to push manufacturing up to 25 per cent of the GDP from the existing 16-17 per cent there was a need for new industries.

Land would be required for such projects and this is where state governments had to come in.

“State governments need to work ways to ensure land acquisition. It is even more important for them to come in when such land parcels are not contiguous or do not have clear titles," he said.
