The Telangana Government has asked the corporate hospitals to help the State in tackling the swine flu virus. With the public hospitals finding it difficult to handle the growing number of patients with the infectious viral disease, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao has convened a meeting of representatives of various corporate hospitals to discuss the issue on Thursday.

He asked the private hospitals to set up separate wards to attend to the patients down with the H1N1 influenza. “We need to instil confidence in the people that the public and private hospitals can address the issue well. On our part, we will supply medicines to help you provide treatment,” he said.

“The hospitals have responded positively. They have asked for permission to use relevant machines to diagnose the virus,” a Government official said after the meeting.
