Tremors felt in Delhi third time in a fortnight

For the third time in a fortnight, tremors were felt in Delhi and parts of North India, especially Jammu & Kashmir, in the afternoon on Wednesday.

The epicentre of the quake, measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale, was stated to be somewhere along the border of J&K, early reports said.

There were reports of tremors being felt in Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, too, sending people into panic. No casualties or major damage to property had been reported till the afternoon.

On April 16, a strong earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale and centred on the Pakistan-Iran border had killed over 30 people in Pakistan. Following this, on April 24, another quake measuring 5.7 and centred in Southern Afghanistan had shaken the National Capital Region.
