VIP vehicles exempted during odd-even scheme

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced the second lap of the odd-even formula for cars in Delhi, which will begin on 15 April. VIP vehicles, all CNG vehicles, electric and hybrid vehicles, medical emergency vehicles and women-only vehicles will be exempted from the scheme.

Kejriwal said vehicles carrying children wearing school uniforms will be exempted from the scheme. “The file will go to the Lieutenant General on Monday. An announcement will be made on Tuesday or Wednesday,” Kejriwal said.

Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai said metro will have 3248 trips a day to accommodate more passengers. He said more coaches will be added, more ticket counters will be opened and the CISF will beef up security at the station premises to help the passengers. He added that the Delhi Transport Corporation will ply 6000 buses during the time.

Shoe hurled at Kejriwal

During the press conference, a person who identified himself as an Aam Aadmi Sena volunteer hurled a shoe at the Chief Minister. He alleged that government officials are taking money from people to give exemptions from the odd-even scheme.
