The West Bengal government is set to frame its new industrial policy early next year, state’s Industry Minister, Partha Chatterjee today said.

Speaking after a high-level meeting with the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and industrialists, including Harsh Neotia and Sanjeev Goenka, Chatterjee said the new industrial policy would be more transparent and acceptable to investors.

The Minister said preparation was afoot in Haldia to host the second Industrial Fair ‘Bengal Leads’ from January 15, scheduled to be inaugurated by the Chief Minister.

He said the three-day event, to be held at the Haldia Helipad Ground, would be attended by many big companies and industry houses, he said.

Chatterjee said leading companies like Tata Ryerson, Tata Ceramic and Tata Consultancy Services had been invited to participate in the event at the state’s only port town.

An important trade delegation from Singapore is also scheduled to participate in the event in mid-January, he said.
