The newly-formed AP chapter of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (Credai) has urged its members to adhere to the National Building Code and cultivate a sense of self-discipline in implementation of various rules uniformly across the State.
AP Chairman K Subba Raju said Credai will take up issues relating to vacant land tax, preparation of master plans and identification of commercial zones, incentives for affordable housing, a single taxation system and exemption for projects above 2,000 square yards.
He was talking to the media here on Tuesday along with President A Siva Reddy after the first management committee meeting.
He said it was important that members of all 14 chapters of Credai stick to the confederation’s code of conduct and ensure transparency in business. “It should be a win-win situation. In apportioning common areas, the norms of the National Building Code should be followed,” Raju said. He said the consumer redressal cells of Credai should try to amicably resolve disputes relating to construction, amenities, infrastructure and payment schedules.
The Visakhapatnam chapter had been able to resolve more than 10 such problems.
Siva Reddy complained that the Andhra Pradesh Government was not responding to the sharp hike in cement prices by manufacturers.
He said the State Government should pay attention to the issue as the livelihood of people was being adversely affected. He said builders were ready to play their role in the construction of the new capital and it was taken to the notice of the Chief Minister.
