Scientist of the year award

Ghousia Begum, a senior scientist at the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, has been conferred Scientist of the year award-2012 by the National Environmental Science Academy, New Delhi.

She is actively engaged in developing biomarkers which are useful to assess and control the risk of long term exposure to xenobiotics, which are toxic substances found in our food, air and water.

Ghousia Begum has published over 25 research articles and edited a book titled Eco-toxicology published by INTECH, Croatia, a press release from the Chemical Technology Institute, Hyderabad, said.
