Heat stops play on outside courts at Australian Open

DPA Updated - March 12, 2018 at 09:32 PM.

Play on outside courts is suspended, with ongoing matches being played only to the end of the set as the Australian Open put its heat policy into effect.

Temperatures heading for 44 degrees Celcius finally sparked the move on the third day of a heatwave, set to last until cooler weather expected on Saturday.
