World Cup: India winning moment generates maximum tweets per minute

Indian cricket fans were seen celebrating the victory against Pakistan in the first match of the cricket world cup on Sunday evening.

Twitter also witnessed peaks in tweets during some moments of the match, including the winning moment.

At around 5 pm IST (10.30 Australian Eastern Daylight Time) on Sunday, Twitter registered highest conversations of around 10,000 tweets per minute (TPM). That was the time when India recorded its victory against Pakistan. (Twitter looks at the moments in TPM. Such a TPM contains at least one world cup-specific keyword).

The moment India recorded a 76-run victory against its arch rival Pakistan on Sunday generated a highest of 9,987 TPM. Virat Kohli’s century generated the second highest peak of 7,159 TPM, and his dismissal for 107 generated 6,916 TPM.

Virat Kohli was the most mentioned player during the match period. He was followed by Misbah-ul-Haq and Shaid Afridi of Pakistan on second and third position, respectively. Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Suresh Raina were the other most mentioned players during the match period.
