Housing.com's Yadav challenges Zomato, Ola founders to take the cue from him

Give half your shares to employees, he says

Housing co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Rahul Yadav now wants the founders of Zomato and Ola (formerly Olacabs) to part with half of their shares in their firms to employees.

“Now I challenge Deepinder Goyal of Zomato and Bhavish Aggarwal of Olacabs to continue this noble act and give away half (not full) of their shares to their employees.

“And I hope both of them spread the nominations further smile emoticon ‪#‎PEOPLE_are_the_WHY,” Yadav said in his a Facebook post.

The post was shared as much as 185 times, while it received 1,328 likes at the time of reporting this story. Yadav had posted it late last night.

Deepinder Goyal is the founder and CEO of online restaurant and food discovery site Zomato, while Bhavish Aggarwal is the co-founder and CEO of Ola.

Yadav, who announced his intention to relinquish his 4.5 per cent stake in real estate portal Housing.com to employees last week, wants Goyal and Aggarwal to follow suit. Yadav could not be immediately contacted to verify the post.

Last week, Yadav allotted all his shares in the realty portal worth Rs 200 crore to employees at a company townhall.

Housing.com employees will get about 1 year of their annual salaries worth of stock.
