Syndicate Bank offers finance for tourist cabs

Syndicate Bank celebrated the World Tourism Day by financing tourist vehicles to SC/ST beneficiaries.

The deputy general manager of the bank and Mangalore regional manger J.S. Shenoy handed over the keys to some of the beneficiaries at Pilikula Nisaragadhama near Mangalore on Friday.

The bank financed Rs 2.25 lakh each to 21 SC/ST beneficiaries to buy tourist cabs. The amount was the 45 per cent of the original cost of the vehicle. The Karnataka Government extended Rs 2 lakh each to the beneficiaries as the subsidy component. Each beneficiary had to bear 5 per cent of margin money.

The Mangalore regional office of Syndicate Bank financed these 21 vehicles through its Kinnigoli, Kankanady, Mulki, Surathkal, Kallamundkur, Sullia, Belthangady, Panemangalore, Vittal, Kokkada and Salethur branches. 

Harish Kumar, commissioner of Mangalore City Corporation, U. Jitendranath, assistant director of Tourism, Mangalore, and Ajith Kumar Hegde, executive director of Pilikula Nisargadhama Society and commissioner of Mangalore Urban Development Authority, were present at the function.
