Envisol Ltd, a part of the $1.3-billion Lalbhai Group, was established in 2011 as a 100 per cent subsidiary of Arvind Ltd.

It provides end-to-end zero liquid discharge (ZLD) solutions to recycle industrial and domestic waste water, on turnkey basis. Having niche and internationally competitive technologies in its basket, with 22 registered patents globally, it has become a major player in the water business.

Currently, it has nearly a dozen running projects, maintaining operations and management in about 180 plants and is looking at the next major foray — solid waste management.

Its technology is saving 100 million litres of water daily due to recycling of waste water at various installations. Excerpts from an interview with Dinesh Yadav, Director and CEO:

How has Envisol emerged as a profitable, tech-driven, global water management company?

Envisol developed and patented a unique, technologically-superior evaporation technology, with lowest operating cost globally. We have demonstrated how India can become a technology provider to developed countries, rather than a net importer. We have reversed the trend by licensing PFET (Polymeric Film Evaporation Technology) to countries like Germany, China, Hungary and Taiwan. Our technology is also in operation in the UK, Ethiopia, and Canada. Of our 22 patents, 17 are from PFET.

How many projects has Envisol completed so far?

We have completed more than 120 projects since 2012, when we acquired a global patent for breakthrough in polymer-based evaporation technology and began offering solutions across the entire water chain. Our projects are processing over 100 million litres of water and waste water every day, thus saving this precious natural resource for human needs.

As a company, how has Envisol performed?

We are growing at a CAGR of 70 per cent over the last three years. We are also a 100 per cent debt-free, world-class company with an excellent track record. And we have emerged as a one-stop-solution provider for water treatment needs in India and overseas.

What are the major industrial sectors that have sought your services?

Companies that need a lot of water for manufacturing and other needs are our important clients.

Some of these sectors are textiles, pharmaceuticals, food and beverages, chemicals, oil and gas, semiconductors and automobiles.

And who are your important clients?

Coca Cola, Pepsico, Zydus Cadila, TVS, Raymond, JSW, Jindal Steel and Power, Titan, Ipca, McCain, and Indian Oil are some of our valued customers.

What next?

We have many orders in our kitty. We are in the process of tying up with some international players for our foray into solid waste management, which will be much larger in scope than water management.
