Bajaj Auto has launched another motorcycle in the Discover range that is part of the fast-growing ‘executive’ segment. Executive motorcycles, priced around Rs 50,000-60,000, are positioned between the entry-level and premium categories.

“While Discover 100T, at Rs 51,000 is our economy executive bike for comfort riding, Discover 125ST, at Rs 57,000, caters to those looking for power and performance. Discover 125T will fill the gap between the two by offering both comfort and performance,” said Aswin Jaikanth, General Manager, South.

Discover 125T promises features such as long seating, nitrox twin shock suspension, and a top speed of 105 kmph. There are two variants — one with a disc brake (Rs 54,022 ex-showroom Chennai) and the other with a drum brake (Rs 57,070).

While the overall two-wheeler market has been stagnant, mid-segment executive motorcycles have seen good growth. The major players in this category are Honda (Shine) and Hero (Super Splendor and Glamour). Recently, TVS Motors entered the space with Phoenix. Bajaj, which claims a leading share in the executive segment, has sold 4.5 lakh units of Discover 100T and Discover 125ST in the last year or so.
