Lamborghini, the Italian luxury and sports car maker, is to celebrate its 50th anniversary, scheduled to commence from the start of next year. The company has unveiled a new logo for the jubilee year.

Though the celebrations will be flagged off in Italy, the company plans to celebrate the jubilee year in a number of countries throughout 2013, says CEO Stephen Winkelmann, offering some details on the upcoming celebrations.

The company’s foundation stone was laid about 50 years ago in May 1963, and the celebrations are to culminate the same month next year. Planned celebrations include the organisation of Lamborghini's 50th anniversary Grand Tour.

The company owners as well as dealers from all over the world are to join in this event.

Lamborghini opened the doors to its Mumbai showroom in Prabhadevi on April 28, 2012. This is the Italian supercar manufacturer's second showroom in the country after its Delhi-based exclusive motors showroom.

At the event, CEO Winkelmann had said that Lamborghini has always eyed the Indian market with a lot of interest and the past year had seen the market grow substantially.
