Centre’s nod likely for 138 road projects in AP districts

Union Minister for Rural Development Jairam Ramesh today informed Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy that project proposals amounting to Rs 400.81 crore for 138 road works in the State are in advanced stages of approval by the Government.

He conveyed that these road projects spanning 660.95 km are located in the districts of Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and Warangal.

They will be covered under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and are in the final stages of securing nod from the Union Government.

In a letter to the Chief Minister, the Union Minister said these proposals for the 138 road works across three districts have been discussed and recommended by the Pre-Empowered Committee in its meeting held on January 7.

Now the empowered committee will meet and approve the proposals.
