The Andhra Pradesh Government is in the process of negotiating a Rs 1,000-crore World Bank credit line for post flood road infrastructure project.
State Revenue Minister N. Raghuveera Reddy said that the State Government will directly pitch for the loan assistance to strengthen the road network impacted by floods.
Speaking to reporters after a review meeting of the National Disaster Management Authority, he said that this project includes two broad components — Rs 530-crore support for Panchayati Raj roads and Rs 470-crore for Roads and Buildings Department.
“The matter will be taken up in the State Cabinet for approval in the next few weeks. Once this is done, we will pose the proposal with the World Bank for funding,’’ he said.
This will be a direct State-proposed project for funding by the World Bank.
