Delhi Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar yesterday night said there is a possibility of involvement of an IPL team besides Rajasthan Royals in spot-fixing but said no “breakthrough” has come in this regard so far.

“There is a possibility of involvement of another IPL team”, Kumar said when asked on the involvement of more IPL teams in the spot-fixing scandal.

He said Delhi Police were “hoping for a breakthrough but that hasn't come as yet. So, we will be looking at wider ramifications of our case as well”.

To a question if he would like to name a team other than Rajasthan Royals, Kumar said “I should not take any name until I have material to back my claim“.

Asked about involvement of more players, he told NDTV “no, nothing concrete.... we have lots of information but information does not mean evidence. And I don’t believe in taking name in any manner whether it is a team or any individual unless there is material to back it up with“.

To a question about arrested Rajasthan Royals Cricket S Sreesanth’s reported admission to the Police about his involvement in spot-fixing, Kumar said “he has admitted. But his admission before us is of no consequence because that evidence is not admissible in the court. But any disclosure of something, recovery of material, that is admissible“.

Asked about proof about Sreesanth’s buying laptops and expensive jeans with the money allegedly received from bookies, Kumar said “we will not give it (proof) to you but to the court”.
