Third time lucky is what we all know about. Third time as beautiful and eye-catching is what we’d like to say of the current edition of the Kochi Muziris Biennale.

Inaugurated on December 12 by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, the three-month-long art festival has 97 artists from 31 countries participating in the main event. Curated by Sudarshan Shetty, sculptor and installation artist, the Biennale has upped the game by including works of students among its offerings. The Students’ Biennale — running parallelly at seven venues in Mattancherry — has been put together by 15 young curators. This team of 15 collected more than 450 exhibits from students of fine arts across India.

The main event is spread across 12 venues across the historic Fort Kochi. Among them, Kottappuram Fort is the latest addition. Apart from visiting exhibitions, there is plenty to do — thanks to an impressive line-up of performances. Poetry recitals, dance performances, instrumental music, theatre et al.
