Audi introduces RS 5 Sports Coupe in Hyderabad

Customers prefer luxury car customisation

The German luxury carmaker, Audi, today introduced RS 5 Sports Coupe in Hyderabad priced at Rs 77.35 lakh ex-showroom. The high revving 4.2 FSI V8 with 450 hp unleashes powerful performance.

Mr Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India, in a statement said, “Audi RS 5 is equipped with a powerful V8 engine, a new permanent all-wheel drive system and a whole series of performance characteristics. The new RS 5 will further help us consolidate our position in the sports car segment.”

Mr Rajiv M. Sanghvi, Managing Director, Audi Hyderabad, told

Business Line, “Audi has quickly become the second largest selling luxury car brand in Hyderabad accounting for a market share of about 28 per cent, up from 14 per cent. With nine models, we are able to offer the entire range to suit different requirements.”

There is growing customisation of Audi luxury range. “The customisation could range from colour of the car, type of fabric, interiors and other features. One can opt for any colour, they will get it. Even A4 has some customisation,” he said.

“Hyderabad has emerged as an important market for Audi. We have sold 176 vehicles last year and hope to clock sales of 300 this year,” he said.

During January-June 2011, Audi India sold 2,802 cars, up 100 per cent over 1,400 it logged during the same period in 2010.
