Finnish company Lindstrom is expanding operations in India with the launch of a new service centre in Hyderabad to provide uniform service solution for the corporate sector under its workwear concept.

The company will design, purchase, customise clothing as per customer requirement. It will also be responsible for laundry, maintenance, storage and replacement.

The Finnish firm will deliver maintained workwear (completely outsourced) at the premises of customer companies. In a press release, the company said, “Lindström has brought to the Indian market a completely new kind of workwear concept, whereby it will respond to the workwear needs of companies with the help of extensive service.”

According to Mika Hartikainen, who is responsible for European and Asian operations, “We take responsibility for the condition and sufficiency of the workwear.”

The Hyderabad unit would be led by Mr Yogendra Bhadoria, who held senior positions in LG Electronics and Philips.

Lindström, founded in 1848, is the market leader in this field and one of Europe's leading textile service companies. With operations in 19 countries and 2,400 staff, the company had a turnover of €249 million in 2010.
