KEC bags orders worth Rs 550 cr

Power transmission and infrastructure company KEC International has bagged orders worth Rs 550 crore. It has secured a Rs 367-crore turnkey contract for the construction of 400 kV transmission lines between Babhaleshwar and Aurangabad and from Bhusawal to Aurangabad.

The order was awarded by the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company and is scheduled for completion in 18 months. KEC's subsidiary, SAE Towers, has secured orders valued at Rs 183 crore for supply of transmission towers to Brazil's Norte Do Brasil Transmissora De Energia.

Mr Ramesh Chandak, Managing Director and CEO, KEC, said, “The acquisition of SAE Towers has been very good for us and has happened at the right time. We are witnessing a huge demand for transmission towers in the American markets. KEC and SAE Towers have secured orders worth Rs 1,350 crore for tower supply post the acquisition.”
