Preethi aims at Rs 100-cr sales turnover from Kerala, targets 30% growth

By setting a target of 30 per cent growth from Kerala, Preethi, the largest mixer grinder brand, is aiming a sales turnover of Rs 100 crore from the State in the current year.

The company has netted a business turnover of Rs 75 crore from the State last year.

Unveiling the Onam offers here on Friday, Mr Vijay Srinivasan, Managing Director, Preethi Kitchen Appliances Pvt Ltd, said that the company is looking at a business turnover of Rs 560 crore nationally in the current year as against Rs 425 crore achieved last year.

Aiming to a become No.1 brand in the country, he said Preethi is present in nine million houses in India and abroad.

It had sold more than 1.5 million mixies in India and 2.80 lakh mixies in Kerala last year.

The size of the Kerala market for mixies is estimated at 4.65 lakh units a year and the company expects to cross three lakhs in the current year. The market is growing at more than 25 per cent since 2002, he added.

Export market

The company, he said, is also catering to export markets of the US, Canada, West Asia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and 10 per cent of the sales turnovers comes from exports.

The company announced its mixer grinder launches along with interesting consumer offers specially selected by Preethi as ideal accompaniments for Onam. The offer is valid till September 30.

The Onam consumer schemes include exchange offers, free rice cookers, iron boxes and kettles in the mixer grinder category and cookware with the induction cook top category.

Due to the increase in cost of LPG cylinders, he said induction cookers are selling well.

The company has seven manufacturing facilities spread across Tamil Nadu and Himachal Pradesh.
